To the editor,

It is our good fortune that Ray Burton is again running for re-election to the Executive Council. As one can tell from the recent news, the Executive Council has an important role in ensuring that all levels of our state government are transparent and accountable to the people. One will not find an elected official anywhere who understands this principle better than Ray Burton – he brings government to the people.

Councilor Burton is involved, accessible, respectful and willing to listen. He understands that a successful politician must also be committed to public service – and one will not find a more dedicated public servant that Ray Burton. Seldom does a day go by without Ray actively meeting with constituents, listening to their opinions and fighting for recognition of the importance of the “North Country”.

One often wonders how he keeps his grueling schedule – his answer is simple – he loves serving “we the people”. Councilor Burton has an outstanding record of representation and accomplishment and has put principle and interests of constituents ahead of politics in a way that sets an example for others to follow. Please vote for Ray Burton and keep him right where he is.
