To the editor,
I am writing this letter in support of Carla Horne who is running for State Rep to the General Court from Meredith.
I’d like you to think of the qualities you most admire in a person you think highly of. Are they honest, smart, work hard, responsible, curious, and articulate and really listen to what you have to say? That is how I feel about Carla Horne and that’s the kind of person I want representing us. ??A number of years ago a friend had a job interview and was asked if she had a particular skill she said, “Honestly I don’t know how do that. “ Well, not sure how much that answer would hurt her chances she wasn’t sure she would get the job, but she did get it and when she was working there a month or so she acquired the skill and her boss said “I knew you could learn that but what I really needed are the things you can’t teach a person and you have those.” That spoke volumes to me and I have never forgotten it. So bottom line is that Carla has the qualities we need and will work hard to learn those other things.
Carla’s resume also shows that she has many other strengths and interests, let me list some of them:?Small business owner for 20 years, currently owns Grand View Inspections, LLC?; a member and secretary of the N.H. Board of Home Inspectors appointed by the governor and ?Executive Council; assisted in drafting home inspector licensing laws and the administrative ?rules and standards of practice for that profession?; member of the Lakes Region Board of Realtors Legislative Committee since 2004 and ? chair for the past three years; following hundreds of bills each session and worked hands on ?with House and Senate members regarding legislation that will affect our Lakes Region.
She also is interested in quality of our lakes, including wetlands and shoreland issues, our natural resources and environmental issues which are the engine of our economy, the condition of state dams and bridges, green energy the quality of our lakes, including wetlands and shoreland issues.
If elected, she wants to create a bi-monthly community discussion here in Meredith, called “Meaningful Exchange”, where residents can join in and discuss policy with her.
Please consider Carla when casting your vote next Tuesday. I am so glad that I can vote for an honest hard working person that wants our input to help in her decision making.
