To The Daily Sun,

I started going to town and school meetings when I was a in the 10th grade, 58 years ago. The most impressive part for me was that no matter who you were you get up and speak your mind. And since then, anybody that knows me, I have always spoken my mind, and over the years I have written many Letters to the Editor.

It is a shame that more people don't take advantage of one of the greatest freedoms we have as Americans.

To give a example of this freedom, two Inter-Lakes High School seniors have started a petition to allow a change in the venue for the June graduations. It is suppose to be held under a tent on a grass field in the back of Prescott Park. The students want to move it to the turf football field.

By the way, the taxpayers paid $1.5 million for a soccer field that ended up with goal posts. This field has been used for many, many good reasons by the school and the town.

The students point out that if the tent wasn't used it would save $5,000 a year.

I personally don't care what the School Board or the administration says. The Class of 2016 should be able to use the turf field. This is a day they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Here is one taxpayer that is proud of these young people for speaking out.

Anyone that knows me knows I don't like to cause problems, but has the senior class thought of boycotting the graduation if the School Board and administration doesn't comply with request? Just saying.
