To The Daily Sun,
Since the Trump administration is intent on sabotaging the Affordable Care Act and has slashed funds for helping people understand and sign up for health care options under the ACA, here is how to get help in New Hampshire.
To sign up for a health plan under the Affordable Care Act you can go directly to the online health insurance marketplace for New Hampshire — or you can get help in person or over the phone.
Where's the New Hampshire Health Care Exchange? You can find the health insurance exchange for New Hampshire at HealthCare.gov. This is where you can learn about the various health insurance options available to you under the Affordable Care Act. If you see a plan you like, you'll be guided through the enrollment process online.
Getting in-person help with enrollment: In New Hampshire, if you need help understanding your options for coverage under Obamacare or signing up for a plan, you can get assistance from a trained “navigator” or from a health insurance broker or agent. Navigators can explain your options, answer your questions, and help you apply for the plan you choose — but they can't recommend a specific plan for you.
Private insurance agents or brokers can also help you understand your health care coverage options under Obamacare. Unlike government-trained navigators and counselors, they are allowed to suggest the best plan for you.
Find a helper: To find help in your area, go to Find Local Help at HealthCare.gov. There, you enter your city and state or ZIP code to get a list of navigators, insurance agents, and brokers near you.
Getting help by phone: If you have questions about Obamacare, you can talk with a telephone support representative at HealthCare.gov. Individuals and families. The toll-free number to call for help is 1-800-318-2596. If you're hearing impaired, please use the TTY line: 1-855-889-4325.
Small businesses or insurance agents, if you have a business with 50 or fewer employees, or if you are an insurance agent or broker, you can get help by calling 1-800-706-7893 (TTY: 711).
Connect on social media: You can find HealthCare.gov on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or YouTube.
