In response to Mr. Allen's letter about Dan Rather's "integrity," must I remind you, Mr. Allen, that Dan Rather severely damaged his career and was fired by CBS News for his use of a counterfeit memo that allegedly proved wrongdoing by then President George W. Bush during his years of service in the Texas Air National Guard? That Rather defended the use of the memo, a memo that was debunked by a liberal blogger showing it had been created using a modern word processing program that didn't exist back when the memo was supposedly written rather than being written on a typewriter, showed us that he was more interested in "getting the President" instead of practicing journalism. He used "fake but accurate" as his defense for use of the counterfeit memo.
That is not integrity, Mr. Allen. That is corruption.
