LRGHealthcare and the American Cancer Society are pleased to announce the continuation of the “I Can Cope” series. The series is being facilitated by the “Breast Cancer and Beyond” support program. The intent is to provide education in a supportive environment for people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Throughout the series, healthcare professionals and other presenters from the Lakes and Twin Rivers regions have presented on topics centered around symptom management and healthy living strategies. Techniques for strengthening physical and emotional wellbeing, improving stress management abilities, and use of effective communication have been explored. Presentations on the practice of Yoga, Nutrition, and Relaxation Techniques have been offered.

Challenges common to many people facing a cancer diagnosis include changes in physical appearance, anxiety and fear of disease progression—though each individual experiences these in a distinctive way.
