Traffic in and around I-93, I-393 and state route 106 will be altered this weekend due to the NASCAR race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.
The race starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, with some 15,000 vehicles expected to show up. The worst traffic is likely to be Sunday afternoon and early evening.
As it has done in past years for the race, New Hampshire State Police and the Department of Transportation are making several temporary lane changes on Sunday.
From approximately 3:15 to 9 p.m. Sunday, the I-393 eastbound off ramp to I-93 south will be closed with a detour on Stickney Avenue; the I-93 Exit 14 southbound off-ramp to Loudon Road and the I-93 Exit 15E southbound off-ramp to I-393 eastbound will be closed with motorists directed to use other exits; and at the I-393 and I-93 interchange, the I-93 northbound off ramp to I-393 west (Exit 15W) will be closed.
Multiple changes will happen to New Hampshire Route 106 throughout Sunday with traffic and breakdown lanes shifted from northbound to southbound, or vice-versa, to allow more traffic to flow. Uniformed officers will provide traffic control at the primary exit points from the speedway as well as signalized intersections and other side roads.
