Laconia Parks and Recreation technicians Alex Breton and Nick Patterson strung lights around a tree in Lakeport Square in Laconia on Nov. 7. Every year in early to mid-November, Parks & Rec puts lights on trees throughout the city to test and prepare them for the Christmas season. The lights will be turned on after Thanksgiving. Stringing lights on the tree in Lakeport took Breton and Patterson a few hours, and the big tree at Stewart Park can take at least a full day to complete, they said.
