Elizabeth Verhoeks of Stamping Memories on Friday presented Laconia Public Library Director Randy Brough with the Campaign for the Second Century's Book of Benefactors. The Book of Benefactors lists the names of those who contributed to the fundraising Campaign, along with a pictorial history of the library's expansion and renovation project.

"The expansion and renovation of the Laconia Public Library could not have been completed without the support of the many individuals and businesses who gave so generously," said Brough. "Future generations will benefit from the work that we have done. . . therefore it is important to acknowledge those who the supported the Campaign for the Second Century is such a way as to ensure that the community reflects on the work these individuals made possible."

Verhoeks said her Stamping Memories business on Court St. in Laconia is committed to teaching people a hobby that allows them to preserve memories of the meaningful events in their life. "We see the renovation and expansion of the library as a meaningful event in the life of the Laconia community," she said. "We are honored to provide this memory album of the project, which will be passed down to future generations."

The Book of Benefactors will be on display at the Laconia Public Library's open house on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. The open house will offer residents an opportunity to view the stunning renovation work that has been completed in the Gale Memorial Building.

The Laconia Public Library will be closed through Wednesday so that cleanup work can be finished. For more information, the library can be reached by phone at 524-4775.
