A man drove his truck into the Sears store on Sunday morning, damaging the building and forcing it to be evacuated. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Noel Cassiano, manager of the store at 954 Laconia Road (Rte. 3), said a man driving a blue Chevy 1500 truck was pulling into the parking lot of the business when he somehow lost control and drove into the side of the building.

"It was like, 'Boom!'" said Cassiano. He said the impact left one wall bowed in from the impact.

"Nobody got hurt, thank God," he added. "Somebody could have been killed."

The driver, who seemed stunned by the ordeal, indicated that faulty brakes might have been the cause, reported Cassiano.

He was expecting to meet with a contractor today to determine the extent of the building's damages. If the structure is safe, the store will re-open immediately.
