Graduating seniors at Prospect Mountain High School in Alton-Barnstead will get their diplomas on Friday, June 13, according to a unanimous decision by the school board last night.
One member questioned the "Friday the 13th luck factor.”
Newly named principal James “Jay” Fitzpatrick said it was good omen that despite the number of bad weather days graduating seniors will fulfill the 175 school days required by state law on June 12.
A decision as to time and place will be made at a meeting closer to the actual graduation date. Current plans call for the ceremony to be conducted outside on the high school grounds, with the gymnasium being the inclement weather location.
