LACONIA — Police are investigating a car accident during which a child was hit, at the corner of Elm and Fairmont streets, Sunday afternoon.
Chief Matt Canfield said a call came into dispatch at 12:12 p.m. on May 31, regarding a 12-year-old boy who was struck by a blue Volkswagen Atlas. Police went to the scene and spoke with all the parties involved. It is unclear how fast the vehicle was traveling, but Canfield said it did not cause any injuries. However, the child was taken to Concord Hospital-Laconia, to be evaluated.
“He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but there was no apparent injury,” Canfield said.
While no charges have been filed, Canfield said that could change, after the accident report is completed.
