LACONIA — A Pittsfield man was injured when this motorcycle collided with an automobile near the intersection of Parade Road and Right Way Path around 10:35 a.m. on Sunday.

Donald Lilljedahl, 57, of 172 Clough Road, Pittsfield, who was not wearing a helmet when the collision occurred, was taken by Fire Department personnel to Lakes Region General Hospital, where he was treated for head injuries before being transferred to a Boston hospital.

According to police, Lilldejahl was riding northbound with a number of other motorcyclists when a Ford Fusion, driven by Rock Drouin, 79, of 227 Ledge Drive, Laconia, entered the roadway from the breakdown lane and the two vehicles collided. Lilldejahl was thrown from his motorcycle. Neither Drouin nor his passenger were injured.

Witnesses reported that Drouin was signaling to merge into the northbound travel lane prior to the collision. The accident remains under investigation.
