Cadet Patrick Joseph Martin of Gilford has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at West Point. Son of Gregg and Margaret Martin, he graduated from Hanau High School in Hanau, Germany. Martin plans to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy in 2008.

Cadet Lucas Gebhart, son of Mary Gebhart of Mauk, Ga., and brother of Roslyn Jager of Laconia, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at West Point. A 2002 graduate of Laconia High School, Gebhart plans to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy in 2009.

Liz Euiler of Meredith, a senior at Inter-Lakes High School, has been recruited by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst rowing team for next fall. The UMass team is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, Division I, and has won the conference championship for the last 11 years.
Rowing out of the Winnipesaukee Rowing Club, Euiler has accumulated close to 30 medals and has won the New Hampshire Championship junior singles division twice. At Inter-Lakes High School, she was also on the basketball team, ski team and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her father, Paul Euiler, is juniors coach of Winnipesaukee Rowing Club and with her mother, Beth, owns Meredith Bay Rowing Center and Omni Signs in Meredith.

Nicholas Johnson of Franklin was among the Bentley College students honored at the Hartnett Family Business Plan Awards. The junior worked with fellow team members to create an award-winning business plan for Barrie Bruce Golf School as part of an integrated business functions course.

Emily R. Dougal of Middleburg, Fla., granddaughter of Kirk Dougal of Gilford, has been accepted at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla., to study aerospace engineering. She has recently received a U.S. Air Force ROTC $45,000 scholarship. She plans to be an air force pilot. Her father, Maj. James Kirk Dougal, graduated from Embry Riddle and flew for the U.S. Army in Korea and Desert Storm. He is now a Special Agent for the FBI.
