The Laconia High School Unified Basketball team played against the middle school team on Wednesday in the Laconia Middle School gym. The high school team won 55-54. Unified Sports brings students with and without intellectual disabilities onto the same team, to create friendships and understanding. The helpers, most of whom are basketball players on their school teams, assist the players to score. Stakes were high as both the high and middle school teams came into the game undefeated. Despite the middle school team's home court advantage, the middle school student audience cheered for both teams.
