Representatives of the Laconia Country Club, Opechee Construction and Meredith Valley Savings Bank performed a ceremonial ground-breaking on Thursday morning on the club grounds. LCC, established in 1922, is undergoing its first major renovation in decades. They'll build a new clubhouse and demolish the old one, leaving extra room for parking and giving their structures a facelift. “There’s a pro house that’s been there since 1954 onsite, a clubhouse built in 1967 — they are connected by a walkway — and through this project, the course would remain unchanged,” Opechee Construction Architect David Sherborne told members of the planning board in July.
