A Florida man was transported to Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving hit a telephone poll on Court Street.
Police reports state that Donald Baron, of West Palm Beach, Fla., was traveling on Court Street when his vehicle drifted off the roadway and struck a telephone pole in the vicinity of Cheapo Depot. Baron received injuries to his head, arms and body, and the vehicle suffered severe damage and was towed from the scene.
Police are not counting alcohol or speed as factors in the accident, and no charges are expected although the incident remains under investigation.
