After more than five years of serving the senior population in the greater Laconia area, Easter Seals New Hampshire will close its Adult Day Center on Church Street, adjacent to the Laconia Senior Center, on July 23.

The facility was operated by LRGHealthcare until Easter Seals took over responsibility several years ago.

According to Easter Seals NH’s vice president of Senior Services and Medical Rehabilitation Arlene Kershaw, the center has seen declining participation numbers and currently serves only 15 clients.

“Unfortunately, after working closely with other community providers to try to increase our participation, we have made the difficult decision to close,” said Kershaw. “We have notified all families and are working with program participants, their families, case managers and other community providers to ensure all have alternatives after the center closes.”

Easter Seals NH will continue to operate a comprehensive Adult Day Center, serving more than 180 clients, in Manchester.
