LACONIA — Happy Cow Ice Cream Shop is gearing up for their 11th annual Banana Split Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8-9.
From noon to 9 p.m., banana splits are $6. Customers can choose three flavors, three sauces, and three toppings for their dessert. Order forms can be found online and printed, or are available at the shop. Just fill out your name and go with a traditional banana split, or customize from Happy Cow’s 40-plus ice cream flavors.
Calise Houle, owner of Happy Cow Ice Cream Shop, said they sold 666 banana splits in just two days last year.
Houle said the annual event is always a hit, and brings the community together for something fun. The Happy Cow team also gets creative with giveaways, to attract more customers.
Houle said her employees each bring a fun idea that is incorporated into the community event, such as arm wrestling an employee, getting pied in the face, or wearing a banana costume, all for customers to attempt to win a free banana split.
Houle is eager for this year’s Banana Split Weekend and said they “sell more and more banana splits each year.”
