Children engaged with a firetruck and ambulance and enjoyed storytime with Gilford firefighter Brandon Flanagan at a touch-a-truck event during National Library Week at Gilford Public Library on Wednesday morning. Each day of the week features a unique touch-a-truck event: police on Monday, department of public works on Tuesday and Thursday, fire department on Wednesday, and school bus on Friday. If children attend at least four days, they get a prize. The children's events are also held in conjunction with Fine Forgiveness Week, a time when the library forgives book fines and late fees.
