LACONIA — Nicole Arsenault, candidate for city council in Ward 2, requested a recount following the municipal primary election, which she lost by 4 votes. The recount is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at City Hall.

By a thin margin, Gregg Hough beat Arsenault on Tuesday — they received 88 and 84 votes, respectively. The winner of the recount, as well as incumbent Bob Soucy with 116 votes, will advance to the Municipal Election on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Late on Wednesday afternoon, Arsenault submitted a written request for a recount to the Office of the City Clerk.

She’ll be out of state on Friday, so politically-engaged resident Lois Kessin will stand in for her during the proceedings.
