NEW HAMPTON — A 30-pound goat was rescued this weekend, after falling into a well on Bristol Road.
The New Hampton Fire Department responded to a call at 6:06 p.m. on Oct. 3, to find the goat alive and uninjured in the bottom of the well. Capt. Adam Schraub said the well was old and abandoned, and roughly 15 feet deep.
There was a piece of concrete on the edge of the well, which first responders were able to maneuver around and get to the goat at the bottom of the well.
Schraub said there was about 3 feet of water at the bottom of the well, and firefighters were able to carefully lift the goat out, using a rescue harness made of webbing.
