BRISTOL — The body of a Massachusetts man was recovered from Newfound Lake Saturday morning, State Police say.
Marine Patrol officers are investigating the death of John Quinlan, 77, of East Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Officers were notified by a recreational paddle boarder that a body was seen in the water near Lakeside Road shortly after 11 a.m. on Sept. 14, State Police say.
New Hampshire Fish and Game officers responded, found Quinlan’s body and removed him from the water.
An autopsy was being conducted Monday by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to a NH Department of Safety press release. The results of that autopsy were not available by press time.
Anyone with further information about Quinlan’s death is asked to contact Marine Patrol Sgt. Joshua Dirth at Joshua.E.Dirth@dos.nh.gov or 603-227-2115.
