LACONIA — Police handled 241 service calls between noon last Friday and noon Monday, Feb. 22.

Six people were arrested.

Shawn A. Paquette, 28, of Colony Lane, in New Hampton, was charged with driving without a valid license.

Robert Aitken, 61, of North Main Street, in Laconia, was arrested for violation of a protective order.

Zackarie M. Farrell, 29, of Messer Street, in Laconia, was arrested for aggravated DWI.

Charles Barry, 26, of Flaghole Road, in Andover, was arrested for DWI.

Joshua S. MacKay, 26, of Dixon Street, in Laconia, was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest.

Melanie L. Sweeney, 45, no fixed address, was arrested on charges of simple assault, and resisting arrest.

Four people were taken in protective custody for intoxication.

Officers made 113 motor vehicle stops which resulted in 98 drivers receiving written warnings. Traffic accidents on Gilford Avenue, Weirs Boulevard, Meredith Center Road, Van Buren Road, and at Parade and Meredith Center roads were investigated.

One call dealt with a juvenile matter.

Police investigated a report of a theft on Beacon Street West.

A report of vandalism at the Laconia Police Office was investigated.

Police investigate a report of criminal threatening on Elm Street.

Officers responded to 17 disturbance calls.
