CONCORD — Officials with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections are searching for a fugitive last known to reside in Enfield who they describe as armed and dangerous.
Joshua D. Champney, 35, of Enfield, was initially released on parole in September 2022, and then released again after a parole revocation in June 2023.
Officers describe Champney as 5' 9", 200 pounds with blue eyes and red or auburn hair. He’s also known to go by “Bobo”. He’s got tattoos on his neck, chest, right hand, left arm and right forearm.
A new parole warrant was issued for Champney’s arrest on March 21 stemming from new criminal charges, including weapon possession and drug use.
Champney is known to have connections to the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont, and is well-known to law enforcement due to a history of fleeing.
On April 14, police in Newport attempted to stop him but he evaded capture on a motorcycle. New charges are anticipated.
His criminal history includes narcotics offenses, falsifying physical evidence, bail jumping and theft, and corrections officers say he’s aware of the active parole warrant against him.
Law enforcement officers say not to attempt to apprehend Champney, but instead to report any information to the New Hampshire Department of Corrections at 603-271-1804 or a local police department by dialing 911.
