CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is attempting to locate a fugitive, William B. Powers, wanted for charges related to leaving probation last month following an assault conviction. Powers has a history of violence against law enforcement and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Powers, 34, is described as a white male, 5'4", 130 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair, and no defining scars or tattoos known.

Powers was last known to be living in the Dover area.

In October 2022, Powers was sentenced to 1.5 to 3 years in state prison for a conviction of second degree assault, receiving a suspended sentence and placement on supervised probation for two years. Powers has a history of resisting arrest and assaulting law enforcement. He has previously been convicted of simple assault, aggravated driving while intoxicated, possession of controlled drugs, falsifying physical evidence and criminal mischief.

Anyone who sees Powers or anyone who looks like him should contact Probation Parole Officer Greg Mourgenos at 603-740-1041, the NH Department of Corrections at 603-271-1804, Strafford County Sheriff’s Office at 603-742-4968, the local police department or 911.
