CONCORD — The state Department of Corrections is attempting to locate fugitive Steven B. Potter on suspicion of leaving probation supervision in June. Potter is known to have violent tendencies.

He is known to frequent the areas of Laconia, Wakefield and Hooksett, as well as Waterboro, Maine, according to a Department of Corrections press release.

Potter, 35, is described as a white male, 6’0”, 200 pounds with green eyes and black hair. He has tattoos including “Caiden” on the left side of his neck, and “Mia” and “Jette” on his forearm.

Potter is currently on probation after being found guilty of assaulting another prisoner. He recklessly caused serious bodily injury to another inmate at Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility in Berlin, when he struck said inmate with his fist, causing fractures to the victim's face.

Potter’s criminal history includes possession of controlled drugs, theft, robbery, burglary, identity fraud, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and causing serious bodily injury, and multiple probation and parole violations.

Department of Corrections staff urge the public not to attempt to apprehend Potter, but rather to report information immediately to their department at 603-271-1804, the Coos County Sheriff's Office at 603-788-5598, your local police department, or 911.
