The Ghoul

The Ghoul uses the cold fusion diode to resurrect the consciousness of Robert House, played by Justin Theroux. In flashbacks, we see this is not the first time the Ghoul has come into contact with the diode. He originally gave it to the President of the United States, portrayed by Clancy Brown, for safekeeping. Now he uses it to make a deal with the devil, bartering with House for the location of his missing family.

House reveals that, although he planned to survive and control New Vegas after the nuclear strike, someone was always ahead of him. It was that invisible adversary who released the Deathclaws on Vegas.

In a flashback to his time in Las Vegas with his wife Barb (Frances Turner), after his actions with the diode, Cooper was arrested by the House of Un-American Activities, taking the fall for his wife as government officials hauled him away.

In present-day New Vegas, the Ghoul finds the cryogenic chambers meant for his wife and daughter, but they are empty. Instead, he discovers a postcard from Colorado with the note, “Colorado was a good idea.”

“For the first time in 200 long-a** years, I know my family is alive.” The Ghoul sets out to find them.

Lucy finds the reanimated head of Congresswoman Welch from Glendale (Martha Kelly), who is somehow alive and begging to be killed. Part of hundreds of years of experimentation by her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) and his company, Lucy mercy kills the head at its behest.

Hank catches up to Lucy and attempts to turn her into his little girl again by trying to install a smaller version of the brain interface implant chip into her neck.

The Ghoul rescues her in the nick of time and maims Hank. Lucy implants Hank instead. “I guess the surface changes a person.”

It is here that Hank reveals to Lucy that the Wasteland is “not the real world.” “The surface is the experiment, not the Vaults.”

Hank also discloses that an army of brain-controlled subjects with a new version of the implant has been released, set to “follow orders written centuries ago.”

Hank then erases all his memories and becomes a blank slate, with no memory of his daughter, his life, or the dastardly plan.

Lucy leaves the shell that was her father and is reunited with Max, who was defending New Vegas from Deathclaws.

Norm

Norm (Moises Arias), Lucy’s little brother, escapes “Bud’s Buds” Vault-Tec execs who turned on him, as they are all eaten by giant cockroaches. He escapes with Claudia (Rachel Marsh).

It is revealed that Steph (Annabel O’Hagan) is not only a 200-year-old Canadian, but also Hank’s wife.

Originally a maid at the Lucky 38, they became engaged on a whim. Steph has Hank’s secret Vault-Tec box as a mob of angry Vaulters corners her. She initiates the threatening-sounding Phase 2: Evolutionary Virus.

The Legion

During a battle, Lacerate Legate (Macaulay Culkin) nabs Caesar’s body and finds a note stating he left no successor, and that the Legion should die with him. As there were no witnesses (left alive), Lacerate Legate declares himself the next Caesar, and marches to New Vegas — “The Holy Land” — to claim it for the Legion.

In short, Robert House’s consciousness is revived, The Ghoul heads to Colorado, and Lucy and Max watch as the Legion marches towards New Vegas.
