If you tuned into The View on Friday, April 3, you may have noticed that the Hot Topics being discussed were a bit outdated. That’s because the episode was an encore of the show that aired one month earlier on March 3.

The View likely took a day off on April 3 to observe the Good Friday holiday ahead of Easter Sunday on April 5. The repeat episode featured Elisabeth Hasselbeck stepping in as guest host amid Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s maternity leave.

Every year in April, The View takes a week off for spring break. It’s unclear if this day off on Good Friday is the kickoff to a full week off after Easter, or if the spring break will take place later in the month.

In 2025, Easter came later in the month. The hosts were off for the full week leading up to the holiday and then on the Monday after Easter, as well. When Easter fell on April 1 in 2024, the ladies still had their week-long spring break toward the end of the month, beginning on April 22.

Easter fell on April 7 in 2023, and the women had off on Good Friday and then the week after Easter. This timing would match up with how the holiday falls this year, but we’ll have to wait until Monday to see if there’s a new episode. If next week is spring break, that means the show will return with new episodes on April 13.

On April 2, The View‘s officially social media accounts confirmed that Griffin will be returning from maternity leave “later this month.” She welcomed her first child with her husband, Justin Griffin, in February. While the show did not specify her exact return date, it would be nice timing if she came back on the same day that the rest of her cohosts (Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin) were also returning from a week away.

Check back for updates as we learn more about the schedule.
