The Hunting Party delivers a Manifest reunion in the Thursday, April 2, episode, with Bex (Melissa Roxburgh) and the team hunting Elliot Carr, a shoemaker who uses human skin to craft his products, played by none other than her TV brother Josh Dallas. It’s a chilling turn for the man people know onscreen as Prince Charming and Ben Stone. And he delights in the role.
When TV Insider spoke with Roxburgh and Dallas about their onscreen reunion, we also had to ask about what that ending means for the future. Warning: Spoilers for The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 8 ahead!
The team, of course, does hunt down Elliot, who, from his time in The Pit, is now targeting the sick and injured to bring back and take their skin to make shoes … with a twist. He’s using his own skin to make the shoes, then the victims’ skin to patch himself up. Elliot’s taken in alive, which means he could always return. After all, there is the black site at which these escaped serial killers, whom the world thinks are all dead, are all being placed upon re-capture.
And Elliot is confirmed to have arrived at the new prison at the end of this episode by Hassani (Patrick Sabongui) — though some inmates are missing. Since Lazarus (Kari Matchett), Shane’s (Josh McKenzie) mother, who “graduated” the program, took over, three inmates have been transferred out, and there’s no record of where they were moved. As Bex wonders, were they moved or did they graduate?
So, could we see a return from Josh Dallas as Elliot Carr? We had to ask Roxburgh and him just that.
“Well, I think Josh doesn’t know this, and I won’t spoil the end of the season, but there’s a couple people who have not died and they do not disappear. So, we find out where they all went,” Melissa Roxburgh teased. “And there’s more to the mystery is all I’ll say.”
Dallas points out, “Just think of the boots and the shoes Elliot could hit that team out with,” and Roxburgh agrees, adding, “I know. If you’re going to be in the serial killer world, at least make them fancy. I can picture Elliot back in some version of The Pit — because The Pit itself is gone — where they’re all now being held, and he’s just making shoes for everyone.”
Dallas is all for returning. “It would be really amazing to stay in that world and be this character. And if that happens, then I will be a kid in a candy store,” he says.
