Kelly Ripa admitted to taking “desperate measures” to maintain beauty standards by undergoing a cosmetic procedure on her butt.
The Live with Kelly and Mark host made the surprising confession on her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, where she spoke with Love, Victor actor Lukas Gage. During the discussion, Gage admitted he’d gotten the minimally invasive procedure, microneedling.
That’s when Ripa said, per PageSix, “Oh, wait, you got microneedling? I did that on my ass cheeks.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, microneedling is when “Your healthcare provider uses thin needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. The damage helps stimulate your skin’s healing process, so it produces more collagen and elastin. These proteins keep your skin firm and smooth.”
When Gage asked the 55-year-old morning show host if she noticed a difference, she replied, “I’m going to tell you something… just as old as before,” before quipping, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Ripa, who shares three adult children with her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos, has opened up about her experiences with anti-aging procedures in the past. Last February, she admitted to getting Botox, though she said she tries not to go overboard.
“I used to get Botox just in my armpits to stop from sweating,” she shared, per InStyle. “One day I said, ‘Do you think I should put Botox in my face?’ And [her doctor] looked at me and he goes, ‘I thought this day would never come.’ And I was like ‘Oh my God, I needed Botox.'”
Ripa said there’s a “sweet spot” and is careful not to overdo it. “I’m a minimalist,” she explained. “I do the crow’s feet and I do the neck and that’s it. I do it now three times a year.”
There is one procedure, however, that Ripa has gone back and forth on over the years, and that’s breast augmentation. “We know that I’m flat-chested. It’s not a mystery at this point. It’s almost a point of pride,” she stated on a 2025 episode of her podcast, per People.
“Like, every time I hear about the new boob guy, I go, and I have a consult,” she continued. “And I’m like, ‘What? What will you do?’ And they always, like, say all the right things and do all the right things. And, you know, because our cell phones listen to us… It pops up. And I scroll through, like, so many horror stories of boob jobs. It, like, talks me right out of it.”
