LACONIA — Virginia Ross Randall, 91, of 37 Taylor Home Drive in Laconia, died at the Genesis Healthcare Center Wednesday July 29, 2009. She was the widow of Carl O. Randall who died in 1980. She was born in Chocorua Village on July 14, 1918 the daughter of Harold and Grace Ross.

“Ginny” graduated from Kennett High School in Conway NH in 1936. During World War II she served on the home front while her husband Carl served with the First Division in the European Theatre. After the war they returned to North Conway moving thereafter to Natick, Massachusetts for a brief time and then to Manchester, New Hampshire where her husband pursued a career in law. In 1990 she relocated to Laconia, New Hampshire to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Brookside Congregational Church of Manchester. She enjoyed playing bridge, crafts, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and a gracious hostess.

She is survived by her son, Michael R. Randall and his wife Louise of Laconia, NH; a grandson Jameson C. Randall and his wife, Stephanie, of Laconia, NH; granddaughter Rebecca J. Randall and her fiancé, Douglas P. Dossey, of Oceanside California, three great grandchildren, Mary Margaret (Maggie) Randall, Marin Rose (Rinnie) Randall, and Mark Jameson (Jack) Randall, all of Laconia, NH; a brother Harland “Snip” Ross and his wife, Mariette, of Tamworth, NH and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Grace Ross, brother Kennett Ross, and brother Ernest “Buddy” Ross.

Calling hours were held on Monday, August 3, 2009 from 4 to 8 p. m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home 2925 Main Street, North Conway, NH. A memorial service was conducted at the Funeral Home Tuesday morning, August 4, 2009 at 11:00 am followed by a graveside prayer in the North Conway Cemetery.
