MEREDITH — Timothy “Tim” Carl Huckins, 54, of Meredith, passed away at his home on Sept. 30, 2024, due to heart failure. There was a fire at his home shortly thereafter.

Tim was born on Aug. 21, 1970, in Laconia, the son of Leander Huckins and Sharon (Ratliff) Huckins.

He was a graduate of Inter-Lakes High School and NH Community College in Laconia. His Scottish heritage was very important to him and he shared it often. Tim worked in several print shops in New Hampshire, but cooking was his passion, working at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, and short-order cooking at numerous facilities in the Lakes Region. After many years in the food industry, he went to work at Golden View Health Care Center serving his “friends” which he grew fond of, “all of his dementia friends.”

Tim had many hobbies; photography, cooking, an avid chess player, reading and learning new skills daily. Being an eager reader, he loved the knowledge he acquired from his many books. His friends were a very important part of his life, he took them very seriously. Tim will be missed by the many lives he had touched.

Tim is survived by his loving mother Sharon Huckins, aunt Beverly Huckins and his favorite cousin Jason Lee Huckins. He is predeceased by his father Leander Huckins, paternal grandparents Robert and Muriel Huckins and maternal grandmother Blanche Vance.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Tim’s name can be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Boston, MA 02451.
