Thomas Welch (formerly of Meredith, New Hampshire) passed away unexpectedly in Charleston, South Carolina, on Sept. 2, 2025, at the age of 60.
Tom’s Meredith home was a hub, a perfect gathering spot for family and friends to stop by to share a spirit, cigar or story. Tom was a gentle soul with a dry witty sense of humor. He didn’t talk much but listened and was a master at delivering one line zingers, or as the Irish would call it “craic.”
Tom was passionate about spending time with his daughters, music, riding his motorcycle with his brothers, was an avid New England sports fan and was proud of his Irish heritage.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, McKenzie B. Bailey and her husband Justin, grandsons Shep and Rhett of Charleston, South Carolina, and Lexi P. Cain and husband Trevor of Pinopolis, South Carolina; sister Deborah Welch of Epsom; brothers Donald Welch and wife AnneMarie of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Shawn Welch of New Durham; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Helen (Nance) Welch, and sister Karen.
Donations may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~ Irish Proverb
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
