Susan T. Harding, 79

Susan T. Harding, 79

MOULTONBOROUGH — Susan T. Harding, 79, of Moultonborough, died peacefully at home on April 3, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Susan was born in 1942 to the late Otto and Betty Thelen.

She was born and raised in Marblehead, MA, graduating from Marblehead High School in 1960. She attended Salem State College, seeking a degree in education. After marrying and starting a family in 1963, she settled in Melrose, MA. While in Melrose, she was very actively involved with the Girl Scouts of America as a leader to troop 144. She organized overnight camping, swim time, crafts and parade floats for Melrose Bicentennial.

After summering in Moultonborough for years, Susan and her family moved north in 1976. Anyone who knew Susan immediately recognized her as a hard worker. She had her own cleaning and elder care business for several years. Later she worked at Foss Insurance Agency and even after her retirement she continued to work a few days a week at Independent Marine. In her later years what would stand out the most was the hard work she put into maintaining and caring for her home and gardens. Susan was an avid gardener and was devoted to her black lab, Blackie. She enjoyed cooking and watching New England sports teams play. Susan was an extremely devoted grandmother and made it a priority to be there for her grandchildren whenever possible.

She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Robert) French with grandchildren Mackenzie French and Cooper French, and Barbara (Robert) John with grandson Scott Moren. Susan has a sister Judith (Robert) Dingman and sister-in-law Dottie (James) Thelen, as well as a nephew and three nieces. Her husband, Thomas B. Harding, and brother James Thelen preceded her in death.

A private celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later time.

The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of New Hampshire.
