LACONIA — Shirley Joan Blouin, 88, of Ledges Drive, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born on Sept. 21, 1936, in Berlin, Shirley was the daughter of Alton and Marguerite (Cole) Joudrey of Gorham. She grew up in a close-knit family, carrying with her a deep sense of faith, compassion, and kindness — qualities that shaped her life and touched everyone who knew her.

A devoted Christian and longtime member of the Evangelical Baptist Church in Laconia, Shirley’s faith was the foundation of everything she did. She lived with quiet grace, offering love and care to all those around her. She gave of herself selflessly, especially in the many years she spent lovingly caring for her mother-in-law and later her own mother, with the support of her siblings and a cherished community of friends and neighbors.

Shirley was the center of her family — deeply loved and a constant source of strength, wisdom and unconditional love. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael J. Blouin, and his wife Joanne of Rowley, Massachusetts; her sister, Robin (Joudrey) Ross, and her husband Robert of Randolph; and her adored grandchildren, Matthew Chase Blouin and Katie Elizabeth Blouin, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Russ Landry, Kristie Leland and her husband Linwood (Woody), Eric Landry, Todd Ross and his wife Ellen, Emily Ross, Jason Ross and his wife Alison, and Rachel Fithian and her husband Isacc.

Shirley is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited in heaven with her loving husband, Ronald G. Blouin; her sister, Patricia Long; several brothers-in-law; her mother-in-law, Lauria Blouin; and her parents.

A private memorial service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St.

Shirley will be laid to rest beside her beloved Ron at Bayside Cemetery, Union Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to remember Shirley by offering a small act of kindness. Do something thoughtful for someone, hold a door, write a note, share a smile, or simply be there for a friend — just as Shirley so often was.
