LACONIA —Robert L'Heureux, passed away peacefully with his wife, Penny, and niece, Janine, by his side on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Forestview Manor Assisted Living in Meredith. He was 86.

Born on Oct. 21, 1928, in Berlin, he was the son of Joseph and Marie (Cusson) L'Heureux.

He served in the Army as a corporal and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He retired in 1983 from Brown Company/James River Corp. after 37 years of service. After his retirement he spent the winters in Davenport, Fla., and the summers at his camp in Locke Mills, Maine. In more recent years he spent his summers on Paugus Bay in Laconia.

Robert was a communicant of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. He was a member of the VFW.

One of Robert's greatest joys was playing Santa Claus for generations of his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, and his first wife Doris Allain who passed away April 23, 2009, he was predeceased by six sisters, Simone Bisson, Rita Horner, Florette Boucher, Claire Labbe, Anita L'Heureux and Jeanne Grenier; three brothers, Rene L'Heureux, Roland L'Heureux and Edward L'Heureux.

He leaves behind his wife, Penny L'Heureux of Laconia; a stepdaughter, Julie Rush of Londonderry: two step grandsons, Michael and Andrew Rush of Londonderry; his sister, Fernande Roy and husband Norman; a brother, Aime L'Heureux and wife Vivian; a brother in-law Ernest Allain; sisters-in-law Cecile Allain and Priscilla Landrigan; three special godchildren Janine Gagnon, Shawn Landrigan and Paul Roy; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin with

​Monsignor Edd​y Bisson officiating. Burial will follow at ​Mount Calvary Cemetery, Berlin at a later date.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St. in Berlin, using the School Street entrance.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Androscoggin Valley Hospital, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH 03570, or to Good Shepherd Parish, 57 Emery St., Berlin, NH 03570
