GILFORD — Robert J. Carmilia, 64, of Gilford, NH died on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at home after a long illness. “Bob” was born in Lynn, Ma January 15, 1942. He was the son of Angelo Carmilia and Helen (Quinlan) Carmilia. He graduated from Salem State College, Salem, Ma in 1966.
Bob was a Math teacher in Wakefield, Mass. for 15 years before relocating to Gilford, NH in 1980. Before retiring in 2003 he owned and operated a successful carpet cleaning business in the Lakes Region.
He is survived by his wife Donna (Cameron) Carmilia; two sons, Todd A. Carmilia of Pembroke, NH and Timothy Carmilia of New Boston, NH. He is also survived by 11 beloved grandchildren and four siblings, John Carmilia, Brighton, Ma, Leah Kearley, Saugus, Ma, Norma Carver, Florida, and Lori Scott of Manchester, NH and several nieces and nephews.
Bob especially enjoyed being a grandfather and spending time with his family and friends. He was well known for helping others in any way he could. Bob was an active member of the Laconia Congregation of Jehovah’s Christian Witness until his death. He will be missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday May 6, 2006 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness’s, Blueberry Lane Laconia, NH.
Calling hour will be held from 1:30-2:30. A memorial Service will follow. Burial will be held May 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery on Winter St., Saugus, Ma.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a disaster relief charity of your choice.
