ALTON BAY — Rev. Everett Eugene Palmer, 77, of Alton Bay, died at his home with his family at his side on January 25, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. It is sad to lose him, but joyful he is in heaven with the Lord.
Born in Amesbury, Massachusetts on September 13, 1943, he was the son of Manford Herbert and Nellie Olive Elizabeth (Kendrick) Palmer.
Everett graduated from Pentucket High School in West Newbury, MA, class of 1961 and he received his Bachelor of Education degree from Boston University, class of 1965. He taught Spanish at Brookline High School, in Brookline, MA. God called him to the ministry, and in 1971 he graduated from the Gordon Divinity School, in Hamilton-Wenham, MA.
Everett pastored at several churches thought his years starting at the Newton Junction Baptist Church, Newton, NH. He went on to pastor at the Danville Baptist Church, Danville, NH, the Ashland Baptist Church, in Ashland, NH and the Holderness Community Church in Holderness, NH.
Everett was past President of the Youth Fellowship at Merrimac Baptist Church, in Merrimac, MA.
Everett answered God’s call at a young age and his life reflected his love for his Lord. He had an amazing voice, singing solos and duets with his wife Pat. He had a talent for storytelling, and art. He was a prolific reader, knew his bible and cared very deeply for others. He also had a wonderful sense of humor.
Everett was predeceased by his brother Mannie; his sister Ruby; and his twin baby sisters.
Everett is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia E. (Pinkham) Palmer of Alton Bay, his sons, Kenneth Palmer, Jacob Palmer and his wife Fran, both of South Carolina, Shawn Palmer, and his wife Marvie, of Alton Bay; three grandchildren; his brothers, Arthur Palmer and his wife Helene, Robert and his wife Connie, both of Merrimac, MA; his sister-in-law, Ruth Palmer of Sandown, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held in the Community Church of Alton, 20 Church St. Alton, NH on Friday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Spring burial will be held in the New Riverside Cemetery, Alton, NH.
