Ramona L. White, 58

 

 

LACONIA — Ramona L. White, 58, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017.

Ramona was born in Henniker on April 22, 1959, the daughter of the late Bradford Bowker and Virginia (Richardson) Bowker.

She was a longtime resident of Laconia and was employed at the former Kmart store in Gilford for a number of years.

Ramona was a person who gave generously to others, helping whenever she could and gave to charities that were important to her. She regularly attended Hands Across the Table where she shared food and fellowship with her many friends. She was a lifelong spiritual seeker. Ramona was an avid reader and was always warmly welcomed at Annie’s Book Stop in Laconia.

Ramona was a longtime member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia and attended several churches in the area, including summer services at the First United Methodist Church of Gilford. She will be greatly missed by all those whose life she touched.

Ramona is survived by her daughter, Ramona Fleck, of Berlin; and her two grandchildren, Clarissa White and Christopher Chase.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Gene;” her parents, and her brother, Paul Prouty.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Society at 172 Pleasant St., Laconia. Burial will follow immediately after the service at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, 144 Garfield St., Laconia. A reception will be held in Ramona’s honor at the Unitarian Universalist Society after the burial.
