Paul E. DuBrule, 83
 BRISTOL — Paul Edward DuBrule, 83, passed on peacefully at home Oct. 6, 2017, in Bristol.
He was born July 15, 1934, in Athol, Massachusetts, the son of Edward and Adele (Shatos) DuBrule.
He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1952 and attended Fitchburg State College.
In 1954 Paul and Carol (Barber) were married in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. They resided in Fitchburg, Gouverneur, New York, Westerly Rhode Island, and Plaistow.
In 1999 Paul and his wife retired and moved to Bristol where they have lived and enjoyed life near Newfound Lake.
Paul leaves his wife of 63 years, Carol of Bristol; a daughter, Andrea Merrill of Hemet, California; a sister, Theresa Pixler and
brother, Charles DuBrule, both of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.
He was predeceased by two children: a son, David DuBrule and daughter Lisa Mills; and a sister, A. Marie Shatos.
Paul was well known in the AA fellowship and had many close friends. He was very proactive in the fellowship and worked many years in area recovery centers as a mentor, coach and friend, helping many on their road to recovery and a better life with wisdom, humor, support, caring, gratitude and love.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Paul’s memory may be made to Newfound Area Nursing Association (NANA), 214 Lake St., Bristol NH 03222, to whom his family is extremely grateful for their loving care.
