TAMWORTH — Myrtle L. Waker Delude, 87, of Paugus Road, passed way November 15, 2008 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, following a sudden illness.
She was born June 19, 1921 in Danbury, N.H., the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Marion (Glines) Page. Myrtle moved to Tamworth in the 1940s when she married her first husband, Walter E. Walker, Sr., who passed away in 1961.
Myrtle lived in Tamworth most of her life, raising her nine children while helping to manage the family farm. She also worked as a furniture manufacturer for Yield House of West Ossipee, formerly known as Frankson's Furniture Company, for 25 years. She later married Robert "Jack" Delude.
She enjoyed gardening, the Sandwich Fair, spending time with her family at the 4th of July reunions at her camp in Colebrook, N.H. and her yearly trips to Mohegan Sun. She was a well-known avid fisherman and hunter and was often very successful.
Myrtle is survived by her devoted husband, Jack, and her loving children and their families: Sandra L. Parker, Tamworth; Walker E. Walker, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Tamworth; Mrs. Richard E. (Barbara) Walker, Tamworth; James A. Walker and his wife Susan, Tamworth; Nancy J. Zell and her husband Barry, Attleboro, Mass.; Barbara W. Jackson and her husband Toussaint, Milford, Mass.; Steven S. Walker and his wife Deborah, Tamworth; Robert H. Walker and his wife Sandra, Hohenwald, Tenn.; Jack Walker, Tamworth; as well as 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Woodward, Tamworth, Peg Manning, Terry and Duke Galipeau, Hank and Ginny Delude, Irene and Robert Brouillard, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was also predeceased by her son Richard E. Walker; son-in-law Bruce W. Parker; two grandsons, Robert E. Walker and James E. Walker; her brothers, Walter and Forest Woodward; and her sisters, Grace Day and Dorothy Copp.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, N.H.. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 20 at 11 a.m. at Fowlers Mill Cemetery, Rte. 113A, Tamworth, N.H.
Donations in her memory may be made to either the Tamworth Community Nurses Association or the charity of one's choice.
