LACONIA — Matthew Robert Wilson 41, son of Robert and Gail (Richardson) Wilson, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from a weakened immune system and pneumonia. Matt was born in Keene and raised in Bow, N.H. He was a graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1992.

At Concord High, Matt developed an interest in jewelry and went on to attend a summer studio session at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine. He later enrolled in the fine arts program at Lakes Region Community College, where he was on the Presidents List. Matt enjoyed creating, giving and collecting crafts and appreciated anything that was hand crafted.

Matt enjoyed working in furniture sales prior to being disabled by multiple health issues. With his quick wit and outspoken humor, Matt left an impression on everyone he met throughout his life. He was known for his long entertaining stories, which he often liked to repeat. Matt was a loving father who enjoyed every moment spent with his children; he also had a strong connection to animals. He loved to be outdoors with his friends and family enjoying skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, hiking, running, biking and camping. Matt was always ready for a new adventure and loved to travel. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him well.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Gail Wilson of Laconia; his wife Callista (Ryan) Wilson of Laconia and their three young children, Thayer, Riley and Lilyann.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service and reception to celebrate Matt's life on Thursday, February 26th at 11 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia, 172 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A private internment will be held in the spring, at Union Cemetery in Laconia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Matthew Wilson Family Scholarship Fund: C/O Bank of NH, 62 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
