LACONIA — Lewis A. Day, 85, of 85 Fenton Avenue, died at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, January 9. Mr. Day was the widower of Natalie (Jacques) Day who died October 15, 2007.

Mr. Day was born April 28, 1922 in Great Falls, S.C., the son of Edgar and Cora Day.

Mr. Day served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 aboard the U.S.S. Texas. In 1945, Mr. Day moved to Laconia and was employed by John Marshall Construction for many years and later Mooney Corp.

Mr. Day was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

Mr. Day is survived by a son, Dr. William L. Day, of Tampa, Fla., and by three sisters and several nephews and nieces all of South Carolina.

A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.

Following the calling hour, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
