LEBANON, NN — Karen R. (Couture) Morton, age 43, passed away in the afternoon hours of Monday, September 22, 2009 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center following a long battle with diabetes. Her sister Shirlene was at her side.

She was born in Hartford, CT on August 22, 1966, the youngest of nine children of Marcel and Annette (Chalou) Couture. She was raised in Berlin and was a 1984 graduate of Berlin High School. She was a certified nursing assistant in Connecticut and Maine for many years, and loved working with people. Her son Brandyn was her greatest joy. She will always be remembered for her courage and smile her sense of humor and her positive attitude.

Karen is survived by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Couture of Berlin, her husband Darren of Rochester, NH and her son Brandyn of Merrimack. She also leaves her brothers: Terry M. Couture and his wife Carol of Longwood, FL, Wayne E. Couture of Franklin, NH and Jerry A. Couture of Berlin; her sisters: Shirlene M. Couture of Tilton, Linda L. Villard and her husband Charles of Coventry, CT and Pamela J. Tardif of Greenville, SC. She will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by a brother Roney L.Couture and a sister Janet Ann Couture.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin using the School Street entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant Street in Berlin.

Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery at a later date.
