Joseph H. Cantin, 20

LACONIA — Joseph “Joe” H. Cantin, 20, of Gilford Avenue, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at home.

Joe was born Oct. 1, 1997, in Laconia, the son of Euclide “Jay” Cantin II and Marleen (McDonald) Layne. Joe was a lifelong resident of Laconia.

He was working as a painter.

Joe enjoyed basketball and was also a talented artist.

Joe is survived by his father, Euclide Cantin II, and his wife, Jeannie; his mother, Marleen Layne, and her partner, William “Bill” Hanson; three brothers, Jerrod Leroux, Austin Brue and Garrett Brue; two sisters, Mickayla Cantin and Jaime Antelmi; his maternal grandfather, William McDonald, and his wife, Marge, of Massachusetts; his maternal grandmother, Kathleen McDonald; his aunt and uncle, Kim and Robert Trask, who raised Joe since he was a baby; an aunt, Kathleen McDonald; an uncle, Thomas McDonald, and his wife, Tammy; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that all loved him.

Joe was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Joy Dandy, and a cousin, Wayne “Bubba” Childers Jr.

If you were a friend of Joe, you were his best friend.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
