MEREDITH — Joseph “Joe” E. McBride, 61, born on April 5, 1964, passed away on Dec. 29, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend, whose spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Joe was a gifted storyteller, often sharing his many fishing tales that brought laughter and joy to family gatherings. His love for fishing was not just a pastime; it was a passion that he generously shared with others, especially through countless adventures on the water. He found great joy in taking kids to the trampoline park as often as he could.

As a caring grandfather, Joe was a steady presence in the lives of his grandchildren, Lucas and Matthew, with whom he cherished the time spent together. His bright smile and warm spirit brought comfort to everyone who considered him a grandpa, and he treated each child with the love and kindness they deserved.

In honor of his life, the family will hold a celebration of Joe’s legacy, where we will gather to share stories, laughter and the love he instilled in us all. The ceremonies will be conducted from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, at The Henry J. Proulx Rec Center, 124 Memorial St., Franklin.
