Jean Marie O'Connell, a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2025, just shy of her 84th birthday, residing in the comforting surroundings of the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen.
Jean was born on Nov. 24, 1941, in Lubec, Maine, to Harold and Marion (Erquhart) Dinsmore. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and warmth.Â
Jean dedicated much of her life to her work at Warner Power LLC in Warner, working on transformers, until her retirement. Her career was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, and she was respected for her deep expertise and unwavering commitment to her field.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur L. O'Connell Jr.; her parents, Harold and Marion Dinsmore; and her sister, Mary Brown. She is survived by her loving daughter, Bonnie Jones and her husband Alton; her devoted sons, Arthur Sr. and his wife Connie O'Connell, and Raymond and his wife Heidi O’Connell; and her dear sister, Mildred Preston. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.Â
Jean found her deepest happiness in the company of her family, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Her enduring passion for family bonds was evident to all who knew her.
Jean Marie O'Connell will be remembered as a beacon of love and resilience, whose presence touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and bid farewell.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jean's memory to the American Diabetes Association, an organization close to her heart.
