LACONIA — Janet A. Kupetz Simoneau, 83, of 15 Hemlock Drive, Belmont died May 6, 2005 in the Laconia Center, Genesis Eldercare Network. She was born in Philadelphia, Penn. on January 24, 1922, the daughter of Raymond A. and Harriet (Plietz) Ilg and was raised in Belmont, Mass.

She was a graduate of Briarcliffe College and furthered her education at Keene State College. Janet has been a resident of the Laconia area since 1960. For many years she was a special education teacher at the Laconia Middle School. Following her retirement from teaching, she had been employed at O’Shea’s department store, and Ippolito’s Furniture Store.

Her first husband, John L. Kupetz Sr. died September 4, 1992.

She was a member of the Laconia Congregation Church and was a former member of the Laconia Country Club.

Family members include her husband, Arthur E. Simoneau of Belmont; a daughter, Deborah Hart and her husband Dan of Haddon Heights, N.J.; three sons, Stephen C. Kupetz and his wife Cynthia of Gilford, John L. Kupetz Jr. and his wife, Andrea of East Burke, Vt., and Robert B. Kupetz and his wife, Karen of Sylvania, Ohio; two step daughters, Carol Simoneau of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Michael (Lisa) Tobias of Highland Village, Texas; two step sons, Alfred Simoneau of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Col. Paul Simoneau, USMC, currently stationed in Germany; and twenty-five grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Monday, May 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, pastor of the Laconia Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Mass. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 N. Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
