Jacqueline "Jackie" M. DeVarney, 85

DeVarney -- Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie DeVarney, age 85, of 406 Court St., Laconia, died on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, after a brief illness at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Jaffrey, with her loving family by her side.

Jackie was born on Nov. 8, 1930, in Laconia, daughter of the late J. Hector and Marie B. Labbe. She was the wife of the late Richard F. DeVarney.

Before working at the Laconia State School, Jackie was employed by several local area banks. Upon her retirement, she worked on the MS Mt. Washington and was a volunteer at the Lakes Region General Hospital.

Jackie enjoyed boating and exploring the Maine coast.

Jackie is survived by her son, Donald H. LaLiberte of Berkley, Massachusetts; daughter, Celeste M. Snitko of Dublin; stepson, Richard W. DeVarney of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; three grandchildren, Eric G. Kidder, Jared H. LaLiberte, and Abigail R. LaLiberte; a sister, Rita LaLiberte; a brother, Norman Labbe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne, in 1959; and a brother, Sylvio, in 1991.

There are no calling hours, and a private service will be held at a later date.

Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 169 Pleasant St., Laconia, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
